The Ehresman Family

I've been working on staying true to myself when I photograph a family. I obviously want to please the family with shots they'll love, but I'm hoping the shots they'll love are maybe ones they didn't expect. I came into this session with no set agenda, no list of specific poses to try. I didn't want to be satisfied with leaving a photo shoot knowing I had one family shot where everyone is looking at the camera with a half pleasant look on their face. Instead, I wanted to be in love with a multitude of shots that in more subtler ways captured the life of this pretty incredible family. Maybe a family portrait isn't one photograph but a series of them. So here are twenty photos that make up a portrait of the Ehresman family. I sure hope they love them as much as I do.

This is one of my favorites.

Relaxing on a summer day.
These curls melt my heart.

Love that the whole family is in this one...just playing and enjoying each other. It's perfect in my book.

  1. Can I tell you how much I adore these images and think they are not only the true you, but also really great photos. My favorite of all four, that I would hang on the wall if I was them, is the wide shot in front of the door.
