Transformations is #1!

Transformations Salon and Spa was voted best Day Spa again on Indy's AList. Vivian, the owner, invited me to come take some photos while rtv6 came to video them. At Transformations, you'll be guaranteed to be given "special" treatment.

We took some photos of a training team formed of some of the most talented and experienced stylists at Transformations.

I had a chance to take some staff portraits for their website. This is my favorite. Her hair is pretty awesome.

We also had a chance to take a few photos that show what these girls are besides talented and professional....FUN!

My favorite photo of the day of one of my favorite women!

Kids say the darndest things...

We've always said that D'arcy is our little lawyer, and from a young age, we've been convinced that Julian WAS NOT intended for that profession.

Example.
Me: Julian, we talked about flushing items, besides excrement, down the toilet. (Yes, he previously flushed a pearl necklace of D'arcy's down the toilet. And, yet, he can't seem to flush after he pees.) Why did you flush D'arcy's money down the toilet?

I was expecting him to either shrug or come up with some excuse for why flushing it down the toilet was the proper thing to do. That's what D'arcy would do.

Julian: Because I was mad that D'arcy can buy more things than me.

This type of directness from him ALWAYS catches me off guard and it makes me laugh.

Me: Well, Exactly. I'm glad you are so in tune with your motivations.

Souvenirs from Ethiopia/ 19. coffee ceremony

A few years ago, Emily took us to eat Ethiopian food in Indianapolis. I discovered then that Ethiopia was known for a coffee ceremony. I didn't get to partake until our hosts made coffee for us in honor of the holiday which also landed on Emily's birthday. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I did drink a bit for the sake of experience. It was naturally bitter, but I could tell it was good coffee.

10 Things I don't do.

1. Put music on my website.
2. Imprint all my pictures with a watermark.
3. Bring loads of props to a infant session.
4. Have a website made with flash.
5. Pay for advertising.
6. Charge extra for a CD.
7. Sell packages.
8. Shoot Nikon (wink).
9. Have a studio.
10. Require payment ahead of time.

I love how this business is my own and I don't have to follow every trend.

I do take photos...of Virginia and her Daddy.

Souvenirs from Ethiopia/ 18. slug bug

Stephen used to love bugs. Now he is more of a Kharman Ghia man, but still the prevalence of VW bugs in Ethiopia caught my eye.
